HMS Victory, Portsmouth. First launched in 1745, the 'Victory' served Great Britain during the War of Independence, the French Revolutionary War and the Napolenic wars. Her swansong was during the Battle of Trafalgar when, under Nelson she helped defeat the French and Spanish. Continued service until 1922, when she returned to the nation after harbour service. This card was publishedby The Valentine Series and posted in 1915, just 7 years prior to her permanent docking in Portsmouth.
